grandson is officially confirming a new album today.

He just released his new single "drones," which arrived Friday, a gravelly, skittering track drawing inspiration from the likes of Tool and System of a Down. It also comes with word of grandson's upcoming album I Love You, I'm Trying, which he confirmed today is out May 5 on Fueled By Ramen.

“‘Drones’ is a twisting, spiraling journey through the lies we tell ourselves to get through the day when the hard truth may bury us,” says grandson. “I wanted to pay homage to bands like Tool and System of a Down known for unpredictable time signatures but bring 808s and hip hop into it."
