Newcomer Ian Stafford has shared his first proper single called "Lanterns."

The Austin-based singer is showcasing a warm, classic country sound on the newly released track, which glows with a throwback haze simultaneously with Stafford's crisp, translucent vocals.

"I’ve always felt like memories of things I used to love are waiting just behind my conscious attention, trying to break back into my stream of thought," says Stafford in a note on social media. "We spend so much time trying to cover these feelings up instead of interacting with them. I imagine all these remnants of your past selves get lonely floating around in the back of your mind."

According to Stafford, the song is a preview of his upcoming debut album.
