Confessing to his mistakes and openly admitting to the fact that like many others, he isn’t always perfect, Beharie provides us with an honest anthem for life's blunders with “Simple Mistake.” The Norwegian based artist somehow manages to put us at ease with his mellow melodies, lethargic beat and soulful charm, as he wistfully sings “what goes up, must come down, I don’t know it yet, but it’s taped to the ground.” For Beharie, this song speaks about a failing relationship and the attempts to try and fix it with just a bit of tape.

Coated in vintage hues, “Simple Mistake” glows with layered, velvet backing vocals, muted, chiming guitars and a groovy, yet plodding rhythm. This is the perfect track for those lazy Sunday mornings, when you find yourself curled up under the duvet, with the smell of espresso floating from the kitchen. Relaxed and serene, the Oslo artist brings to mind the likes of Leon Bridges, which appears as no surprise considering he has always been a huge inspiration for Beharie.

“Simple Mistake” is off of his latest EP, Beharie, the Third. Speaking of the release, the songwriter shares, “It’s inspired by stories and feelings from my own personal life. And mostly by the more melancholic side of the story.”
