Scottish rapper MC Salum is closing out the year with the release of his debut album Crocodile DD, a 13-track set proving the up-and-comer's massive talent.
The introspective set, which is at times brash and unrestrained yet also confessional and sincere, finds the artist using the crocodile as a metaphor, signifying his own resilience.
“For me it’s about pursuing success and it's downfall," he says. "To really be a great artist you have to sacrifice so much time, relationships fall by the wayside and priorities change.”
He adds: “The album starts at a time when I remember I was weighing up my options. I was looking to move on from my past, and the only way to do that was to start dedicating myself to making tracks and telling my story. I was hungry to succeed but looking back I think I needed more, which I guess the next album will look at.”
