From Sydney Australia, five-piece indie-rock band MOONWOOD are delivering the goods with their latest single “Slow Down.” Their sweet, rocky indie tune touches on the breakdown and fixing of a relationship through slow-burning build-ups and breakdowns, brimming with electric guitar ripples and warming vocals.

In the run-up to their highly anticipated, upcoming EP, influenced by past pain, this track is the second single to be released giving us a taster of all things MOONWOOD. The single is a journey through music displaying the rollercoaster of emotion between two lovers, trying to navigate through problems amidst a breaking connection. With the strong build-up in the song, the mirroring of the soundscape reflects on how the power of love and deep bonds will keep you together, or at least remind you of the depth of the connection as you learn to tolerate and be patient with the other.

“Slow Down” is the epitome of slow-burning. With a constant build on the production, the ever-growing tension never ceases, moving into a huge sonic explosion of guitar riffs and ultimately delivering an overwhelming passionate single. The record fluctuates in dynamics and emotion, with lead singer Jacob McCullough sharing, “For me when I'm making music it's therapeutic. It's my way of processing experiences and emotions that come up. When I write it's very cathartic and meaningful, and I hope that even though these experiences are my own they may also resonate with other people. I more so want to capture feelings. I want the listener to feel something to evoke something while they’re listening.” This single is an indie rock dream, unrushed and thoughtful. Check out “Slow Down” now!
