Cautious Clay has released his debut album—finally.

This past week, Deadpan Love arrived, as promised. And as some of the previously released tracks suggested, it's definitely a stinger, an album born out of heartbreak and painful decisions, but Clay somehow turns moments of difficulty into brilliant melodies. That's certainly his gift as a songwriter and vocalist, but it obviously doesn't take away from the struggle which gave this album life.

Deadpan Love is something that I have inside me; the way I cope with the worst of what the world has to offer,” says Cautious Clay. “So much of life and relationships are spent in gray areas—we mistreat the people we love and we’re friendly with the people we hate. This is an album about those complexities in friendship, investigating toxic behavior and self-worth.”
