After months of teasing, the day is finally here for Cold War Kids fans.

Their electric new album NEW AGE NORMS 1, the first in a massive trilogy of albums, arrived on Friday. Produced by St. Vincent and Foster the People collaborator Lars Stalfors, the new record was released along with a new companion video for album highlight track "4th of July."

The new album includes the previously released standout "Complainer," which was co-written with Katy Perry collaborator Bonnie McKee and Electric Guest’s Asa Taccone. It was partly inspired by summer 2018 Kanye West, when he released his own album Ye in addition to a seemingly non-stop burst of projects he produced for Pusha T, Teyana Taylor and Kid Cudi.

"The idea that those Kanye records were coming out every month felt so cool, very of the moment,” says singer Nathan Willett. “Eight songs, a very digestible amount of music that just keeps coming. And it really sunk in how fun it was to experience those in real time with all of us together. I wanted to do that with Lars."
