Emerging singer Jack Larsen has released a new single called "Vanity," which comes with news he's ready to release his debut album.

The glowing new track arrived Wednesday as a preview of the Chicago artist's full LP Mildew, which will be released Oct. 23 via Chicago's Closed Sessions label. The new record will also include Larsen's previously released cut "Spirit."

"'Vanity' was written at what I would consider a point of rock bottom in my life," says Larsen of the new song. "Discouraged within my art and personal relationships, I wrote this song as a form of self-reflection in order to capture my feelings of vulnerability and isolation. The lyrics are straightforward and cover most of the facets I was facing: being broke and unemployed while feeling worthless and apprehensive."

The new music follows Larsen's 2018 debut Push-Ups EP, a standout project which was also released via Closed Sessions.
