Stop everything! Missy Elliott is dropping a new project. Tonight.

Yes, yes, there's another big album coming Friday at midnight. But this one is a surprise. Elliott confirmed Thursday afternoon her project Iconology, which consists of new songs, will arrive tonight.

"This year has been a tremendous year for me," she wrote on Instagram. "I am humbled and grateful. THANK YOU for allowing me to smell the roses. You, my fans, and God are the reason I am here and have celebrated every milestone with me! So, I have a SURPRISE for you... let’s continue the celebration at midnight tonight…I’m dropping a collection of new songs! Let’s #ThrowItBack to a time when music just felt good and made us want to dance!"

Elliott's last album The Cookbook was released back in 2005. And while this new release wasn't previously announced, the timing perhaps isn't a coincidence, as she is set to receive the Vanguard Award at Monday's MTV Video Music Awards.

Update: Missy Elliott's five-track Iconology EP arrived Friday at midnight. It includes apparent lead single "Throw It Back," which comes with a video co-starring Teyana Taylor. The project was produced by Elliott herself alongside Timbaland and Wili Hendrix.
