Newcomer Billy Blond is making quite an impression with his new song "Glow Up."

The U.K. singer dropped the new single this week and it's definitely a standout, serving as a preview of his upcoming debut EP, which is expected to arrive sometime in September.

"I had been depressed, broke, hating myself and drinking too much for too long," says Blond of the new single. "I'm a strong believer that life imitates art, so I wanted to write a song about the hard times but spin it to something positive—love bringing you back. Whether that's self-love, pure friendship or a romantic relationship."

"Glow Up" is a vibrant offering, at times moody while simultaneously maintaining a steady shimmer, perhaps easily sharing a lane with Lana Del Rey's "Blue Jeans."
