Despite a shameful [lack of] tribute to the late Aretha Franklin, one of several bright spots at Monday night's MTV Video Musics Awards was a special performance by Logic.
The rapper, who has made it his personal mission to stand for "peace, love and positivity," took the with OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder to perform their collaboration "One Day," joined by a mass of immigrant children, who entered New York's Radio City Music Hall wearing shirts reading "We Are All Human Beings"—because sadly, we need to be reminded of this truth in 2018.
Meanwhile, as if Logic's message wasn't clear by the presence of his special guests, his own shirt read "F*ck the Wall." According to a press release regarding the performance, it was meant to "protest the Trump Administration’s cruel and inhumane family separation policy that tore thousands of children from their parents and continues to keep hundreds apart."
At the end of Logic and Tedder's performance, a giant video "wall" began to rise, revealing a number of the children's family members waiting behind it.
See video of the performance below.
