Emerging artist Sasha Sloan has shared a new set of visuals for her song "Ready Yet."

In the newly released clip, she reveals the heartbreaking inspiration for the track, which is not actually about an ex-boyfriend, as some might have inferred when first hearing the song. Instead, the video is reflective of her own family.

“This video is really important to me because it shows what the song is actually about,” she says of the new visuals. “I think a lot of people assumed [that] 'Ready Yet' is about an ex-boyfriend, but I wrote it about the relationship I have with my father.”

Sloan has been steadily rising this past year as she has branched out on her own with her debut sad girl EP, having previously written hits for the likes of Camila Cabello, Troye Sivan, Diplo and Dua Lipa.

She recently wrapped a stint opening for Joywave and is now supporting Oh Wonder on tour. She will also perform her first headline show tonight (July 10) in her hometown of Boston.
