Despite some unfavorable weather looming, this past weekend's third installment of the Eaux Claires was a successful one.

Affectionately billed as Troix, an on-brand take on "three" in French ("trois"), the two-day Wisconsin fest managed to survive some storms with big-name performances Paul Simon, Chance the Rapper and Wilco, an eclectic lineup featuring the likes of Feist, Jenny Lewis and Danny Brown, as well as some underrated acts such as Sylvan Esso, Francis and the Lights and Perfume Genius.

Despite being three years into this "musical experiment" (as it was described by several artists), Bon Iver's Justin Vernon and The National’s Aaron Dessner—the festival's co-founders—have managed to preserve its charm and yet prove it can still be a major player in the tricky world of music festivals, which can sometimes be as unreliable as the weather.

Throughout the weekend, fans were treated to surprise guests, special collaborations, local art displays and eventually a downpour. Yet somehow we suspect a little rain and a few rushed sets will do little to deter festivalgoers from promptly snagging tickets to next year's fourth go-round.
