Dave Chappelle proved last night his Saturday Night Live hosting gig was a perfect choice for this week, regardless of who won the election.

"America's done it," he said during his monologue. "We've actually elected an internet troll as our President." But he admitted he was prepared for such an outcome because: "It seemed like Hillary was doing well in the polls, but I know the whites."

At the end of his monologue, the comedian recalled attending a recent party at the White House, with many other black people in attendance. "I saw how happy everybody was," he said. "These people who had been historically disenfranchised. And it made me feel hopeful and proud to be an American. And it made me very happy about the prospects of our country."

Chappelle went on to add: "I'm wishing Donald Trump. And I'm gonna give him a chance. And we, the historically disenfranchised, demand that he give us one, too."

The SNL episode also included a cameo from Chris Rock during a sketch mocking Hillary Clinton supporters' naiveté about white America and the country's history with race, and later a parody of The Walking Dead with Chappelle's Show characters.
