Following news last month that Donald Glover has joined the cast of Magic Mike XXL, the actor-rapper is once again extending his acting résumé.

The Wrap reports Glover has now been cast in Ridley Scott's upcoming sci-fi flick, The Martian, which stars Matt Damon as an astronaut stranded on Mars, alongside a lofty cast of Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig, Kate Mara, Jeff Daniels, Michael Pena and Mackenzie Davis.

The Community vet will play a NASA employee, while Chastain's character is leading a rescue mission that includes Mara and Pena. Daniels will portray the director of NASA and Wiig will serve as its media relations director.

As for Glover, he also appears in the Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass-led Lazarus, which opens in January.
