Fans waiting for a new Explosions in the Sky album may soon be in luck, as the Texas rockers has confirmed they're currently in the studio recording their new album.

They have so far posted a pair of photo updates on social media captioned with "Day 1" on July 1 and "Day 8: Searching for sounds" on Wednesday (July 8), which may or may not be intentional references to the band's 2005 LP The Rescue, an album of eight tracks each simply labeled as Days 1-8.

The news comes only days after the release of the Al Pacino's Manglehorn, which the band soundtracked alongside David Wingo.

While the band certainly hasn't been silent in recent years, their last proper full-length was Take Care, Take Care, Take Care, which arrived in 2011.
