“I got love for Hov, but I ain’t f---ing with that ‘Suit & Tie,'" the MC said of Jay-Z's collaboration with Timberlake. He also went as far as to provide an image suggested he had deleted it from his iTunes. (This got the biggest response from the English crowd.)
A significant portion of his rant was dedicated to those who put placed commerce and "business people" above art. “Since when was making art about getting rich?" He asked. "And I know it’s easy for me to say this. Having money’s not everything, not having it is.” He sarcastically pleaded for corporations to "support me," shouting: “You gonna help me put on a better show, corporations? Can you please support me? Please? Me—Kanye West. I swear I’m a nice leader now. I swear I’ll put the pink polo back on!”
Multiple times, between discussing his displeasure with corporate dollars and "sponsorships," he also proclaimed: “Remind me again why the Grammys can suck my d---."
Sure, it's Kanye West. But does he make a point? Near the close of his "speech," he directs a faux plea mockingly at corporations: "Please, just for $3 million. I need it so bad. I need a pool in my backyard! So I’ll tell all my fans your s--- is cool. And if they believe in me, then they’ll also believe in you!"
The main point of his speech? "Creativity fuels everything."
