Yoshi Flower has opened up a new chapter in his career, and he's also sharing more of himself on his new single "Try Living."
The new track, which arrived Friday, finds the singer opening up about his battles with addiction and his mental health. The candid new single follows his recent Ode EP, which he released over the summer, a project of covers originally recorded by artists gone too soon because of addiction. It included renditions of Juice WRLD's "Wishing Well" and Lil Peep's "Star Shopping," as well as the standout take on the late Mac Miller's "Good News."
"I am a recovering addict," says Yoshi of the new track. "This song is my story—the good, the bad, the ugly. The truth. It feels triumphant yet also painful to tell; it's not some sugarcoated tale. All we can do is try. But, I know I don't want to waste my second chance at living."
