Love Fame Tragedy continues to churn out new music ahead of a new EP.

As the solo project of Wombats frontman Matthew "Murph" Murphy, his newest song "Riding a Wave" is out today along with an accompanying video. The track is a preview of his upcoming sophomore Five Songs To Briefly Fill The Void EP, which is out next month and will feature collaborations with Bastille’s Dan Smith, Crystal Fighters’ Eleanor Fletcher and Maddi-Jean Waterhouse.

Calling the song's lyrics his "most personal" he's ever written, he said of the video, which finds him singing into the camera during an open-heart surgery: "The world feels so fragile at the moment that I’ve been trying to maximize life on a day-to-day basis, rather than planning ahead as much as I used to. I wanted to bring that anxiety to life here, exploring the mercilessness of mortality and how our next second is never promised."

Of course, he does it with his reliable dose of humor, even if it is a little dark.
