Emerging artist Ross T is heading into the weekend with new music and big news. His new single "Diamond in the Rough" and accompanying video is premiering today on Variance.

The grunge pop-rock infused cut comes with news of the New York newcomer's upcoming debut album WONDERBOY, which will be released Nov. 18. The new song is a collaboration with producer Nico Pagni.

“A couple of people told me I needed to stick to one genre, so I made a rock song to prove them wrong," says Ross T.

He notes: “You can’t gain anything if you don’t try. I want to be my own artist and be confident in my own decisions ... I see how sad and lost this generation is. I want to be positive and uplift others; there’s a power in empowering yourself.” 

The infectious track is definitely a worthy introduction for the rising artist, who draws influence from a wide musical landscape, including rock and pop. The new song is officially out Friday (Nov. 4).
