East London-based artist LIZZI is sharing a new song this week as she prepares to release her debut After Hours EP.
Her new song "Personal" is premiering first on Variance. The lush, empowering new cut lives up to its name as the rising soul-pop singer delves into the breakdown of a close relationship while finding strength in herself.
"I wrote 'Personal' a couple of months after my break up," she says. "I was still angry at that point and being stonewalled and this was my way of getting the message to him. It was bittersweet and empowering writing this, especially as it was an all female collaboration."
Born in Houston and relocated to England when she was 10, LIZZI's latest single follows her previous tracks "Try" and "Careless." According to the singer, each track from her upcoming EP captures different phases of her last relationship: "the highs and lows and the learning that you take away from it."
