New Music from St. Lucia Is Coming Very Soon

Is St. Lucia about to release new music? The short answer is, yes.

But when? That remains to be determined. The New York outfit, helmed by Jean-Philip Grobler, announced a new show on Monday. It was a bit of an unusual announcement, for just one show, on Sept. 21, at New York's Pier 17.

While a one-off show might not typically be worthy of a press announcement, it will actually mark the band's first headline show in two years. Tickets go on sale May 18, with a pre-sale starting on Tuesday (May 15).

The news comes as St. Lucia has been in the studio, presumably working on their third album, the followup to 2016's Matter. And they confirmed today new material is definitely coming "later this year."

While that may not be specific enough for anxious fans, it's worth noting the group is also on the lineup for Phoenix's Lost Lake Festival in mid-October. Coupled with the New York show, that would suggest some kind of new music will be out by then. It also seems to hint at the possibility of a fall tour.

A rep for St. Lucia says more information will be "coming soon."
