J.J. Watt's Houston recovery fund has surpassed $11 million as of Thursday morning, crowdfunding site YouCaring has confirmed.
It's a staggering tally, considering the Houston Texans star initially hoped to raise $200,000 to help victims of Hurricane Harvey. The updated total follows Ellen DeGeneres and Walmart's $1 million donation on Wednesday as well as a $200,000 donation from Drake, which he confirmed in a video on Thursday.
As we previously mentioned, a number of stars have also donated millions to Harvey relief efforts. Sandra Bullock and Leonardo DiCaprio have each donated $1 million, while others such as Kevin Hart, Kim Kardashian, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez and Jamie Foxx have all donated thousands.
Miley Cyrus also confirmed on Wednesday she had donated $500,000.
In a statement to Variance, YouCaring confirmed the company is redistributing $50,000 in voluntary donor "tips," which are now being allocated to the Harvey fund. The company also said the vast majority of the donations have been under $100.
YouCaring's CMO Maly Ly said: "I am amazed and humbled by the many tens of thousands of individual donations that have been coming in since Sunday, and which testify to Americans' ability to empathize with those in need and their willingness to help however they can."
