Kesha confirmed Wednesday in a series of Instagram posts she is releasing a new single on Thursday.
"Animals, I have a surprise for you," she teased fans. "My new song 'Praying' is coming out tomorrow."
The news comes as earlier this week, the singer began updating her Instagram feed with pieces of a massive poster featuring the singer on a beach facing a sunset, with the words "The Beginning" appearing prominently, hinting at a new album.
Kesha spoke earlier this year at SXSW, noting she had been in the studio. "It's empowering to sit with my imperfections and be real and vulnerable. In truth, there's real power," she said at the time. "I used to nitpick everything and it was fucking exhausting. Now I'm feeling myself."
The new material follows a lengthy, ongoing battle with Dr. Luke. In 2014, Kesha filed a lawsuit against the producer, claiming he sexually assaulted her.
"Praying," which is said to have been co-written with Macklemore associate Ryan Lewis, will mark Kesha's first solo material since her 2013 Deconstructed EP. She and Zedd also released a collaborative single "True Colors" last year.
