It's official: Phoenix will release their long-awaited new album, Ti Amo, on June 9.
The French outfit confirmed the news Monday in a new interview with The New York Times. The revelation comes just days after the band performed three new songs, including the title track, at a show in Belgium, their first in three years.
Ti Amo, the followup to 2013's Bankrupt!, is described as "the band’s most unabashedly romantic record yet."
According to Daniel Glass, head of the band's label Glassnote, it's a "feel good" album. "I think the record came out of darkness, out of concern," he said, adding: "But what’s resulted is this incredibly colorful record."
Phoenix had previously announced a tour, including festival dates and a number of North American shows.
