Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig says the band's forthcoming album will be "a lil more springtime than the last one."
In an Instagram update on Friday afternoon, Koenig acknowledged he seemingly gets comments and questions everyday about the record. "Obviously, we gotta take our time [and] get it right, but the fans deserve some information," he said.
Revealing the forthcoming record is still called Mitsubishi Macchiato (which he confirmed a year ago), Koenig was careful not to give too much away. But he did share the names of two songs, “Conversation” and “Flower Moon.”
Interestingly, Koenig also provided a timeline dating back to the release of the last album, Modern Vampires of the City, back in 2013, noting that in 2015 he apparently "worked on a vibey project you’ll hear [about] soon," he wrote.
The new Vampire Weekend record is one of Variance's 50 Albums to Watch for in 2017.
