The Roots are expanding their Roots Picnic into New York City, the group announced Monday.
Set for Oct. 1-2 at Bryant Park in Midtown Manhattan, the two-day event will be headlined by The Roots with special guests D'Angelo and John Mayer on the first day, with what's described as a "Love Letter to NYC" from Wu-Tang Clan, David Byrne, Nile Rodgers and some surprise guests taking over on the second night.
The news comes just hours after this year's Picnic wrapped over the weekend in Philadelphia, where the two-day fest has taken place for nine years.
In addition to the aforementioned, the festival will feature performances from Swizz Beatz, X Ambassadors, Trombone Shorty, Kevin Gates, Deerhoof, Echosmith, Jeremih, DJ Jazzy Jeff and more.
Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. EST.
