Fans waiting for The xx's new album may soon be in luck, as the British trio appears to be finalizing their followup to 2012's Coexist.

Jamie xx noted during an appearance Thursday on BBC Radio 1 that the band, which has been in the studio since last year, was heading back to record this week "up until Christmas," with plans to have new music out in 2016. He added: "It's going well and we're just enjoying it. We've been doing it for so long now. I'm really looking forward to wrapping that up as well."

The brief interview was part of Jamie's performance alongside his xx bandmates and members of Fout Tet and Warpaint on Annie Mac's show.
