A New York judge has thrown out Kesha's case against Dr. Luke and Sony Music, in which the singer claims she was sexually and verbally abused by the producer.
According to the Associated Press, New York Supreme Court Justice Shirley Werner Kornreich ruled on Wednesday the case would be dismissed because the alleged incidents did not take place in New York.
Justice Kornreich also noted the claims against Dr. Luke fall outside of what can be considered a "hate crime" under New York law, explaining that "every rape is not a gender-motivated hate crime."
The dismissal comes just days after reports that Sony offered Kesha a chance to break her contract if she would retract her claims against Dr. Luke.
The AP is reporting part of Kesha's claims regarding contract issues was excluded from the claims dismissed by the court.
