Nielsen's SoundScan has confirmed that the record sold 58,000 copies last week, enough to easily nab the top of the Billboard 200 chart.
As we previously reported, West's Yeezus dropped to No. 3 last week, and he remains there this week, behind Wale's The Gifted, which was last week's No. 1. This also means that, as of Sunday (July 7) night, Born Sinner (439,000) has surpassed Yeezus (431,000) in total stateside sales.
Of course, J. Cole's mentor JAY Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail, which released today, will almost certainly claim the No. 1 spot next week. But as both rappers are on Jay's Roc Nation label, the crown will obviously stay in the family. This will mark four consecutive weeks of rap albums holding on to the top of the charts.
