50 Cent confirmed on Thursday that he's finally releasing a new album, Animal Ambition, which is due June 3.
The news accompanies 50's departure from longtime label Shady/Aftermath/Interscope, as the rapper has now signed to Caroline (via Capitol/Universal) in a more independent deal.
According to a press release, pre-orders for the new album will begin on March 18, with two instant track downloads.
In a statement, 50 Cent thanked Eminem and Dr. Dre "for giving me an incredible opportunity. I’ve learned so much from them through the years. I am excited to enter this new era where I can carry out my creative vision."
For his part, Eminem said that "Shady [Records] simply would not be what it is without 50 Cent," adding that he's "developed a great friendship with 50 over the years ... we remain supporters of both him and G-Unit."
