Karen O to Release Debut Solo Album, 'Crush Songs,' on Sept. 9

Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen Lee Orzolek (aka Karen O) has revealed plans to release her debut solo album later this summer.

Crush Songs will arrive on Sept. 9 via Julian Casablancas' Cult Records. It will be released first on a limited-edition vinyl—including Orzolek's handwritten lyrics, followed by a digital/CD release.

“When I was 27, I crushed a lot," Orzolek said of the album in a press release. "I wasn’t sure I’d ever fall in love again. These songs were written and recorded in private around this time. They are the soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade. I hope they keep you company on yours.”
