At last, Orphan Black has been renewed for a third season.

BBC America's Perry Simon confirmed the news, which had already been expected, although it certainly does arrive on a rather curious date: the 2014 Emmy nominations are due Thursday morning.

Lead actress Tatiana Maslany—who has portrayed as many as seven different clones on the critically acclaimed series—was nominated earlier this year for a Golden Globe, but as the show has slowly picked up viewers, an Emmy nod is certainly deserved.

New Nielsen viewership data obtained earlier on Wednesday revealed the show, despite averaging about 1 million pairs of eyeballs per episode this season, saw the greatest bump in DVR viewers of any show on television, with a hefty 123% jump (679,000 people) in delayed watching.

Orphan Black, which wrapped its second season three weeks ago with a cliffhanger, will begin production for its third round later this year with a premiere expected in spring 2015.
