One of the dancers slated to perform at this Sunday's MTV VMAs has reportedly been bitten by a snake during Friday night's rehearsals.

TMZ is reporting the reptile—possibly an anaconda—bit the female dancer while she was running through "Anaconda" with Nicki Minaj.

The website says the performer was taken to the hospital for treatment and the snake was removed from the rehearsal area.

MTV has since confirmed the incident, with Viacom director of safety production Chris Velvin noting the dancer was bitten by a non-venomous boa constrictor and subsequently transported to a nearby medical center out of “an abundance of caution."

At press time, the network is still planning to include a snake—albeit a different boa or a python—during Sunday's live performance.
