As fans await Kendrick Lamar's next move in the lead-up to his upcoming album, new details have surfaced from an unlikely source.

Television music supervision vet Scott Vener (Entourage, Nas: Time Is Illmatic) revealed in a series of tweets Wednesday night that he's unexpectedly heard some of Lamar's new material, including one standout "King Kunta."

Vener said he originally went to visit Pharrell Williams over the weekend in the studio, but Lamar was there and he previewed some of his upcoming record.

He said "King Kunta" took him "all the way back to '90s hip-hop and back and gave me a tour of the cultural fabric of L.A. like never before.” He also claims Williams immediately described the track as "so unapologetically black and AMAZING."

Although the numerous tweets weren't necessarily an official announcement, Top Dawg Entertainment Punch doesn't seem to mind Vener's excited revelations, immediately responding: "The homie @brokemogul on his Kanye rant. Lol."
