Exactly two months after Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig crushed fans' hopes of a "secret Lifetime movie," it turns out the project, titled A Deadly Adoption, will indeed premiere on the cable network on June 20.
As The Hollywood Reporter spotted Tuesday evening, a billboard for the TV movie has emerged in Los Angeles.
When news of the "top secret" TV pic surfaced on April 1, Ferrell told Entertainment Weekly the pair was "deeply disappointed" that their plan to debut a project without the public's prior knowledge had been foiled. Thus, they "decided it is in the best interest for everyone to forego the project entirely, and we thank Lifetime and all the people who were ready to help us make this film."
As we previously reported, Deadly Adoption is a satirical nod to Lifetime's once trademark, made-for-TV movies, with Wiig and Ferrell starring as a successful couple who open their home for an expectant woman in hopes of adopting her unborn child. But their plan backfires tremendously.
