Just three months after releasing his last album Oxnard, Anderson .Paak has confirmed he is ready to release another.
He announced Wednesday his new record, titled Ventura, will be out on April 12 via Aftermath Entertainment. It was executive produced by Dr. Dre and recorded during the same sessions as Oxnard, which was released in November.
To support the new music, .Paak has also revealed plans for a massive spring tour, with Thundercat joining him on every date while the likes of Mac DeMarco, Jessie Reyez, Earl Sweatshirt and Noname will also open for select dates.
"Growing up in Oxnard gave me the grit and the church to find this voice of mine," says .Paak in a note about the upcoming record. "One town over I went further and found my depth. The duality of each place inspired me greatly and from that I made two albums at the exact same time but held one back because that would have been too many songs to perform live for you all! I like ending things on an even number so welcome to Ventura."
Tickets for the tour go on sale next Friday (March 8) at 10 a.m. local time and each purchase will include a CD or digital copy of the new album, Ventura. Fans can also register now through this Saturday (March 2) for access to a Ticketmaster pre-sale.
