Fans waiting for a new album from The Killers are likely going to have to wait, because Brandon Flowers is currently working on a new solo record.

“The record’s not done yet, but I’m excited about it… I’m liking it," Flowers told NME of the record, which will be released next year. "People are going to interpret it how they will, but there’s only a little bit of Vegas in there.”

Flowers has been working with producer Ariel Rechtshaid, who had a hand in some amazing 2013 releases from HAIM, Vampire Weekend, Charli XCX and others.

And rest assured, Killers fans. Flowers says the band isn't going anywhere. "I wanna keep being in this band. I don't think we'll get too morbid about it, I think we wanna keep going."

Flowers' debut solo album, Flamingo, was released in 2010.
