LCD Soundsystem performing at BottleRock 2026, by Dan DeSlover

BottleRock Napa Valley returned to wine country May 22-24 with another weekend that somehow felt equal parts massive music festival, backyard party and food-and-wine fever dream. Between unforgettable headlining sets, surprise celebrity appearances and packed crowds dancing through the Napa Valley Expo grounds, the 2026 edition delivered plenty of moments people will still be talking about long after the weekend ended.

Sunday night’s Backstreet Boys set easily became one of the festival’s biggest singalong moments. From the second the group walked onstage in matching white outfits, the crowd completely lost it. Thousands screamed every word to classics like “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)” and “I Want It That Way,” turning BottleRock into a full-on late-’90s pop time capsule in the best possible way. Even people who probably didn’t expect to end their weekend at a Backstreet Boys concert looked fully invested by the final chorus.

Saturday night brought the opposite kind of energy as Foo Fighters took over with a loud, sweaty and emotional headline performance. Dave Grohl spent much of the night bouncing between storytelling and absolute chaos, feeding off a crowd that seemed ready to scream every lyric right back at him. It was one of those sets where the energy never really dipped, even for a second.

Elsewhere throughout the weekend, Busta Rhymes delivered one of the most explosive performances of the festival. His set felt nonstop from beginning to end, with the crowd matching his energy the entire way through. Lorde brought a more intimate atmosphere despite the massive audience, while LCD Soundsystem turned their set into one giant dance party as the sun disappeared over Napa.

One of the things that continues to make BottleRock stand out is how random and entertaining the entire experience can feel at times. That was especially true again this year on the Williams Sonoma Culinary Stage, where cooking demonstrations somehow turned into chaotic comedy shows featuring celebrity guests, athletes and musicians. One of the weekend’s most unexpected moments came when Adam Devine and John Stamos appeared onstage together, adding to the festival’s long-running tradition of bizarre and hilarious crossover moments that somehow only make sense at BottleRock. You never really knew what was about to happen next, which honestly felt like part of the fun.

And then there’s the food. Festival food at BottleRock somehow never feels like typical festival food. Long lines formed all weekend for some of the event’s viral dishes, including the lobster caviar corn dog that once again became one of the most talked-about items on the grounds. Between the food, wine and music happening in every direction, there were moments where the festival felt almost impossible to fully take in all at once.

That’s kind of what makes BottleRock work so well, though. It’s not just about the headliners or the celebrity moments. It’s the combination of everything: hearing your favorite band while holding a glass of Napa wine, stumbling into a surprise performance, catching golden hour between stages or ending the night surrounded by thousands of people singing the same song at the top of their lungs. BottleRock 2026 delivered plenty of all of it.
