Ever since releasing their dreamy new album Wet Tennis last year, Sofi Tukker has seemingly been on an endless summer vacation.

The Florida duo made up of Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern returned to Chicago this month as they played Lollapalooza, this time on a larger stage and at a much bigger point in their career. Between performances, they took time to chat with Variance backstage about the highs and lows of touring, while acknowledging they're sort of living the dream, noting they wrote much of Wet Tennis during the pandemic at a time when traveling, much less touring, wasn't an option.

According to Hawley-Weld, a significant portion of the record came from the duo putting themselves in hypothetical situations, imagining a future beyond 2020. And it just so happens the end result was a summer-ready soundtrack, perfect for fans eager to get back out into the world and celebrate.

They also have a number of other festivals and international tour dates coming up through the end of the year, including shows in São Paulo, Ibiza and a residency in Las Vegas.
