Childish Gambino, by Dan DeSlover

This year's Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival was a big one, and perhaps one of the most successful renditions in the past 10 years.

With headlining performances from the likes of Childish Gambino, Phish, Cardi B and Post Malone, organizers seemed to find a good balance this year. And it paid off. The fest sold out, for the first time in six years.

As the festival landscape continues to shift and evolve, with other fests' future in limbo, it was an enviable feat for Bonnaroo to pull off. But despite the success, the weekend wasn't completely flawless, as 62 attendees were transported to the hospital for treatment, also one of the highest numbers for the fest in recent years.

That didn't seem to slow things down in Manchester, Tennessee, where Bonnaroo is held, as tens of thousands gathered for performances from Kacey Musgraves, BROCKHAMPTON, Juice WRLD, Courtney Barnett, Maren Morris, Jim James, Lil Dicky, The Lonely Island, Walk the Moon, Caroline Rose and more.

While the festival circuit will no doubt continue being reshaped and nothing is ever certain in this industry (even Woodstock 50 might be in trouble!), Bonnaroo proved this year why it remains of the giants after 17 years. Perhaps it's not the same as it was back then, but maybe it doesn't need to be.
