As Betty Who celebrates the release this past week of her new album The Valley, the Australian singer took time to talk with Variance at SXSW in Austin.

She discussed pulling inspiration from her relationships and her move from New York to Los Angeles (the valley), while also sharing her thoughts as the release date arrived.

"You spend so much time with it and you're like, 'Everyone's gonna love it! I love it,'" she recalled, humorously. "Then like a week before, you're like, 'What if everyone hates it? What if they hate me!?'"

She also talked about the importance of taking time off, explaining that she's spending the end of March in New York and making sure to "hang out with my ladies."
