We've known for some time that JAY Z and Rihanna's "Run This Town" would be used as the Thursday Night Football theme, but given current circumstances, some fans are not happy about it.

The track, with additional narration by Don Cheadle, will open each Thursday game on CBS, beginning Sept. 11.

Coincidentally, Thursday's game will see the Pittsburgh Steelers heading to Baltimore to take on the Ravens, who are at the center of a NFL controversy thanks to the ongoing Ray Rice troubles.

Rice was fired from the team this week after TMZ released video footage of the running back attacking his fiancée in a casino elevator, knocking her unconscious and then dragging her out into the lobby.

Rihanna's connection to tonight's game has irked some fans, considering her own very public experience with domestic abuse, having been assaulted by Chris Brown before the 2009 GRAMMYs.

Update (6:30 p.m. EST): CBS Sports has revised its plans for Thursday's game and will instead open with news coverage of the Rice story.
