Janelle Monáe is getting a head start on the weekend, dropping a new song Thursday called "Float."

We're glad it's here today so we can fully absorb it before the glut of new music on Friday, because we are obsessed! Thus, it's our newest Big Obsession selection. The track, which follows the singer-actor's 2021 song "Stronger," expands on that landscape with such incredible bluster. It features Fela Kuti’s youngest son Seun Kuti and his band Egypt 80.

The song is out today on Wondaland Arts Society/Atlantic Records. It comes as Monáe just capped a great year career-wise, having recently co-starred in the hit flick Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery alongside Daniel Craig and an all-star cast.
