The nominations for the 2019 Grammy Awards were revealed Friday morning.

Shawn Mendes, Janelle Monáe, Alessia Cara and Apple Music's Zane Lowe were on hand to announce the prime categories—including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist—on CBS This Morning and Apple Music.

Among this year's top contenders are Kacey Musgraves, Cardi B, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Post Malone, Janellle Monáe, Lady Gaga, Ella Mai, Zedd, Maren Morris and others.

In the coveted Best New Artist category, as with the other top four awards, the race has been expanded in 2019 to eight nominees. This year's selections are an interesting mix: Jorja Smith, Dua Lipa, Margo Price, Greta Van Fleet, H.E.R., Luke Combs, Bebe Rexha and Chloe x Halle.

There are also some curious "snubs" which will likely cause a stir with fans: Travis Scott and Ariana Grande both missed the top four categories for their newest albums Astroworld and Sweetener, respectively. Surprisingly, so did the usually mighty Taylor Swift, whose Reputation only nabbed a Best Pop Vocal Album nod (it was released in 2017 but after the Sept. 30, 2017 cutoff for the 2018 awards).

The 61st annual Grammys are set for Sunday, Feb. 10, airing live coast-to-coast at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST on CBS.
