Could James Blake be releasing a new album soon? It seems anything is possible, but he's just announced a North American tour.
The trek starts Feb. 18 in Atlanta and sees the singer-producer routing through Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto, New York, Chicago, Seattle and more. And while fans will surely be thrilled for the chance to see the elusive artist on the road, it's worth noting music acts typically head out on tour when they have some new music or a project to promote.
Considering this isn't just a few one-off dates or like his past run opening for collaborator Kendrick Lamar, it would seem likely Blake is readying new music. Even his publicist notes: "Only time will tell what he has in store for 2019."
For those keeping track, next year marks three years since the release of James Blake's last album The Colour in Anything. That album came three years after his Mercury Prize-winning Overgrown.
Tickets for the new dates go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. local time, but a pre-sale starts Wednesday.
