Sky Ferreira says she's "in a good place creatively" and in life, telling fans in an Instagram note on Monday she's been hard at work on new material.
While she noted she is jugging "several other projects," she acknowledged her relative silence regarding new music, which she said she hopes to be putting out soon.
She also suggested perhaps part of the reason for delay might have been out of her hands. "I was genuinely stuck at the mercy of other people before," she said before revealing, "No matter how hard I tried, it was beyond me. I couldn't say anything because of the possibility that it would make things worse ... It has been [genuinely] tasking on my soul [and] so frustrating."
Ultimately, Ferreira says she "stuck to my guns" and seems to have ended some of her professional relationships, explaining that she "didn't wait this long to put out something that meets the bare minimum."
Although there's no explicit release date for anything, those eagerly awaiting the followup to 2013's Night Time, My Time should definitely be encouraged.
