It's definitely been a big week for Lorde.
The same week her debut album, Pure Heroine, arrived, the 16-year-old New Zealander has topped the Billboard Hot 100 with "Royals." The song, which has been hovering in the top five for weeks, with steady gains, finally reached the top, passing Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball."
According to Nielsen SoundScan, "Royals" grew both in radio and streaming (22% and 12%, respectively) with 294,000 downloads.
The singer, who turns 17 next month, is the youngest artist to reach No. 1 since singer Tiffany did so in 1987, also at 16, with "I Think We're Alone Now."
