Following The Civil Wars' GRAMMY win on Sunday for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, John Paul White has apologized for the lack of "thank you's" [sic] when he took the stage solo to give the acceptance speech.

While he clearly appeared shocked and somewhat nervous thanking the Recording Academy during the pre-telecast ceremony, he expressed remorse Tuesday on Twitter "for my omission of Joy [Williams], Charlie Peacock, Richie Biggs, and Nate Yetton (among many others)." He said it was "classless and unacceptable," going on to say: "Thanks also for your patience this past year, and understanding of my stance to devote all energies to my family. It is dearly appreciated."

His appearance at the GRAMMYs and his tweets marked his first public statements since February 2013, coincidentally at the GRAMMYs when the Wars took home Best Country Duo/Group Performance with Taylor Swift. 2014 was their third consecutive win in that category.

Since the duo went on hiatus in November 2012, White hasn't tweeted and he's remained largely out of the spotlight.
