One month into The Voice's new season, the NBC juggernaut is switching things up once again with a new key player in Coldplay's Chris Martin.

The show revealed the news Tuesday night on Snapchat, further evidence of its prowess among young viewers compared to Fox's American Idol.

According to the Peacock, Martin will advise the remaining contestants from each coach's team starting on the March 31 episode, which will see the vocalists facing contenders from other teams in a second round of battles.

"He's such an authentic voice in the industry. We could not be happier," executive producer Mark Burnett said of Martin. "There's a massive level of respect from the singers..."

While the format change comes at a critical time for The Voice as it tries to maintain its powerhouse ratings, it's also a huge boon for Martin, whose new Coldplay album, Ghost Stories, will release on May 19, only weeks after his stint on one of America's biggest television shows.
